Why do you insist on slandering these brothers who have spent more time studying the Truth than you’ve spent breathing?
If indeed man is capable of being certain of anything, I’m certain of this: you don’t understand the things you condemn, and you far less understand who these men are. Of course, anyone with any understanding of epistemology would know that it is impossible to know anything with absolute certainty. That isn’t to say that we know nothing, but only that we can’t be absolutely sure of knowing anything. We deal with probabilities, not facts. Your concept of gravity is an observation of probability, not a fact. Are you sure that this law of gravity is a universal law? Only a fool would claim to be sure of that! Yet only a fool would call it an unlikely assumption.
I pray that the Lord opens your eyes to the Truth which you so blindly ignore. I hope He removes your blindfold of ignorance.
You have never seen God or heard him… how do you know he exists? God is usually the Christian’s catch all that answeres the question “where did matter come from?” A person can be using a different epistemic standard when talking about certainty than you do. Your standards are obviously wrong, you believe a non existent being exists.
Praying for you Andrew… that you’d stop spreading hate.
I’ll ask you again…. Why? You have yet to explain to me how come you enjoy blowing these little points of theology. It’s really absurd. I personally don’t think you are saved, because you are stating here you believe that we as men should know everything. You are saying that we should be able to know for certain that God exists. Which WE CANNOT KNOW because we are not gods. We are mere men saved by Grace. It IS beyond our intellectual cognition, as Sproul says. We only know Christ through the Bible and after we are saved we are able to see His work in our daily life. But there isn’t some magical orb sent down from heaven that says “God is real, God is real.”
By all accounts buddy, you should believe Piper on this. On your last movie where you blew off him talking about listening to our inter calling… By your criticism of Sproul here, you should believe what Piper said.
If you believe that God is within our intellectual cognition, there would be the internalization of emotion that would be “listening to our hearts.”
You’re contradicting yourself again, brother.
What’s your point about R.C and Piper?
I haven’t listened to one single one of your you tube videos. I haven’t yet had the time to read your posts, but I did read the list of links at the top of your page, as well as the “alleged” Interests and Expertise on the left. None of these encourage me to read your posts, because you are too “in your face people” with what seems an aggressive attack.
I was reading your interests and expertise messages and I felt like you were screaming at me, and I don’t even know you. I’m not sure if you claim to be christian or not, but from what I read in those messages, I don’t see how you could ever claim Christ with your current mindset and disposition.
I don’t know what your beef is, or against whom, but Christ did not call us to attack others whether in the faith or not. It shows signs of great immaturity. Instead of studying what all these other people say or espouse, why don’t you make your time more productive and actually study the bible itself? Because right now…you represent the handful of people for whom it is said, “A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.” We are not called to spend our lives in shouting matches and debates with other people over religion. That is not our purpose on the earth. I wish you peace, wisdom, and blessings.
Hi there,
You friend requested me on MySpace, but I think you’d enjoy reading my hubby’s site rather than mine
I’ve warned you. I’ve pleaded with you. I’ve begged you time and again to repent. Do you know what the fruits of the Spirit are, Andrew? You seem to embody their antithesis. When so many of God’s children have issue after issue with you, you are so hardened in your heart and your pride is so great that you would condemn every man but yourself before you would admit to being wrong.
Even if you aren’t wrong, you show no grace in your expression of what you believe. You show no charity to men seeking to glorify God. If you have faith in God, as you claim to, it is a wonder that the Spirit has done nothing in your heart — that you remain an quarrelsome, arrogant fool with no love for your fellow man.
Titus 3:9-11 tells me to have nothing more to do with you. Goodbye, Andrew. I fear for your soul.
Aren’t we all (believers) on a path towards sanctification–we are sanctified, but we are also BEING sanctified. God says we are brothers and we must show each other grace. None of us have all the answers or follow Christ perfectly. Perhaps RC Sproul’s wording could be a bit different. I don’t know, for I certainly do not know as much about philosophy as he does. But surely you know his HEART is certain of God, for he knows what God does in his life.
I don’t know if you are a parent, but I have 4 children. One of my children is strong willed and has a hard time accepting authority. Another of my children is very submissive to authority, and also proud of that fact. So do I allow my submissive child to taunt the other child about his shortcomings? Do I say, “Yes, way to go! Tell him how it is!” Heaven forbid, for that damages both children, not just the one being scolded. It also damages our family.
Jesus says, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” He says this in reference to Satan. Even Satan, who has no love for his band of fallen angels, had enough sense not to be working against them by casting them out of people. Yet you work against brothers in the faith–even if they disagree with you, they are still brothers–and damage the family of God. Would God have you do this? Perhaps you should investigate the motives of your heart to see if you are truly of the family. I pray your heart would be softened.
Way too many edits in your video. I bet an unedited video would show an entirely differant story…. You cant be trusted…
i agree with MC Shann. too many edits … the creator has an agenda… to twist the truth and message around. unfortunately Andrew, you bought it. ’tis a shame.

We are mere men saved by Grace. It IS beyond our intellectual cognition, as Sproul says. We only know Christ through the Bible and after we are saved we are able to see His work in our daily life. Consider Romans 1:20 which speaks about His invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature… This can be known without the Scriptures. The Scriptures are necessariy to show how God is both just and merciful. The Westminster confession of faith says it very well: “Although the light of nature, and the works of creation and providence do so far manifest the goodness, wisdom, and power of God, as to leave men unexcusable; yet are they not sufficient to give that knowledge of God, and of his will, which is necessary unto salvation. “ This is saying that it is clear by reason that God exists and that is why we are without excuse, but that alone is not sufficient for salvation. The Scriptures were given to show how God is both just and merciful. That is shown in the revelation of Scripture, Christ shows the mercy of God. So yes, I agree that you can only know Christ through the scriptures. This is the means that God uses to show justice satisfied, however, you can know of God’s eternal power and divine nature without the scriptures. The scriptures assume the existence of God, thus the In the beginning God created the heavens and earth… The existence is assumed.
Obviously we as humans are finite and do not know everything. So you are saying that we cannot know because we are not gods. I agree that we are not gods. But did not GOd gives us the light of nature which is reason. Can we know that a is a or that a can’t be both a and non-a at the same time and in the same respect? Can we know that a can’t come from non-a? Innate in us is reason, and no, reason is not above God. Reason applies to God. Can God do something that is irrational. COnsider reason in us, this can be explained by the laws of thought. There is the law of identity- a is a, the law of excluded middle-either a or non-a, and the law of non-contradiction, not both a and non-a. YOu can see that a car is a car, it is not tree. YOu can see that a car is either a car or not a car, and that a a car is not both a car and not a car. I will come back to this later…
Don’t you think we should know for certain that of something that we believe? Look at Romans 1:20: Romans 1:20 says “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” Romans 1:20 is saying it is clear that God exists and that is why we are without excuse. We are 100% WITHOUT EXCUSE for our unbelief. If it was not clear and could not be certain, then GOd could not hold us accountable for our unbelief. It would be unclear that God exists and it would be unjust for God to hold those to believe something that is not clear. So if there is no clarity and inexusability wouldn’t it be the case that there would be no need for Christ? We would be with excuse and therefore justified for our unbelief.
ALso, if ROmans 1:20 is talking about the clearness of the existence of God don’t you think we should be able to show it?? So if it is clear we should be able to show it. Not just probability. Should we be able to show the existence of God, not just the probability of? Should we be able to show that there must be something eternal, that it is not matter(Material Monism/Naturalism), nor spirit(Spiritual Monism/Hinduism), but it is God that created the heavens and the earth? Are we to cast down arguments against the knowledge of God? Do you want to fight for something you are not certain of? Would God, in His infinite mercy, justice, goodness want to make it clear for us? Would He want us to be certain and to not just play the game of probability?
So regarding the laws of thought that I spoke of above and in regards to proving the existence of God, here would the first step of showing that something must be eternal: Is everything eternal in some form or other or is only some (God) eternal or is nothing eternal? So we will look at it from the contradictory of something must be eternal:
The contradictory ‘nothing is eternal’ is self-contradictory (by reductio argument). if nothing is eternal then every thing is temporal. if every thing is temporal then every thing had a beginning. if every thing had a beginning then being would have come from non-being. since ‘being from non-being’ violates the law of identity this is impossible. Therefore ‘nothing is eternal’ is impossible and ‘some is eternal’ must be true. So something must be eternal… What is it? Is it matter? Spirit? Or is it GOd? That is the first step in the process of showingthe existence of God, there are a few more but I will leave it at that. If anyone wants to go further and know for certain that God exists and to be able to show it or has any questions, I am here… or at roger@rogerwillis.com
