  • Cornelius Van Til Denied Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone)

Cornelius Van Til falsely assumed that God reveals himself outside the Bible — in nature and in the unbeliever’s heart.

But Van Til also correctly assumed that God’s Revelation is equally authoritative wherever it occurs.

    This
led Van Til to an awkward conclusion — that the Bible is not our sole
authority but must compete with the “equal authority” of Natural
    Revelation.

  • John MacArthur is a Pharisee

John MacArthur of Grace Community church says assurance is not based on Christ’s finished work.

Instead, it’s based on the “zealous efforts” and “moral pursuits” of the sinner.

  • John MacArthur is a Mystic

John MacArthur from Grace Community church says unbelievers have been saved by following their own hearts.

  • John Piper says God is like Bill Clinton

John Piper says God is like Bill Clinton. In fact, he says all unbelievers are “like God”.

How did Piper arrive at this awkward position? He assumes that all unbelievers have God’s truth “deep down”. Therefore, Piper must say that God is like unbelievers. Sadly, Piper fails to realise that natural man lost the image of God at the fall. Unbelievers are now as ignorant of God as oxen, birds and brute beasts are (Isa 1:3, Jer 8:7, Jude 1:10)

  • CS Lewis Hated the Psalms

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=PQEeCxRBBF0

CS Lewis said some Psalms are “diabolical”, “petty”, “vulgar”, “terrible” and “contemptible”.

Lewis assumed that the imprecatory Psalms are David’s own personal cursings. And thus, Lewis thought that the imprecatory Psalms were “diabolical”. After all, the Scripture forbids men to curse. And since the imprecatory Psalms contain cursing, Lewis concluded that these Psalms are “un-Christian”.

Sadly, Lewis did not see the other option (the imprecatory Psalms are actually Christ cursing his enemies, the reprobate)

Christ says, “But these HOSTILE to me, those not desiring me to reign over them, bring them here and EXECUTE THEM BEFORE ME.” (Luke 19:27)

  • Jonathan Edwards was Pro-Slavery

He said that God causes believers to doubt and fear in order to make them obey.

Edwards also said that God lies to believers (makes them think they’re are lost when they are saved)…
